KANSAS CITY, Mo. Cheap USWNT Jerseys . -- The Chiefs parted ways with veteran defensive back Dunta Robinson, who never quite lived up to expectations last season, and signed CFL wide receiver Weston Dressler on Friday. Robinson was just one year into a $13.75 million, three-year deal that the Chiefs hoped would provide a veteran presence in what became a vastly retooled defensive backfield. Instead, Robinson was slowed by a series of nagging injuries and appeared in only nine games, making 14 tackles and defending just two passes. He was also part of a defence that was torched by Indianapolis wide receivers in a loss that knocked Kansas City out of the playoffs. The move was widely expected not only because the 31-year-old Robinson struggled most of the season, gradually losing playing time to undrafted free agent Marcus Cooper, but also because the cash-strapped Chiefs would save more than $3 million. The Chiefs were bumping along the just below the salary cap at the beginning of the week, and theyre expected to make more moves -- perhaps restructuring some of the long-term contracts signed by the previous regime -- so that they can sign their draft class and be active in free agency. Kansas City is expected to lose Pro Bowl left tackle Branden Albert, who was franchised last season, though there are several in-house candidates to replace him. Offensive linemen Jon Asamoah and Geoff Schwartz are also hitting free agency, as are defensive tackle Tyson Jackson, safety Kendrick Lewis and Pro Bowl punt returner Dexter McCluster. The move to sign Dressler, who spent the past six years in the CFL, could be in response to McCluster likely demanding a contract far more lucrative than the Chiefs are willing to pay. Dressler, a former North Dakota standout, caught 442 passes for 6,531 yards and 43 touchdowns for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, helping them win the Grey Cup this past season. Hes also proven that he can return kicks and punts, in essence many of the things McCluster did for the Chiefs. "Ever since the first time I touched a football, thats something I dreamed about, having an opportunity to play in the NFL, on the games biggest stage," Dressler said during a recent news conference, when he was released by Saskatchewan and finalizing a deal with an NFL team. It was unclear at the time that his landing spot would be Kansas City. "To kind of get to that point now is pretty surreal," Dressler said. The Chiefs didnt announce Dresslers signing until Friday, even though his name popped up on the leagues transaction report earlier in the week. Terms of his deal were not available. "Money wasnt a factor for me in this decision," Dressler said. "Its a decision based on an opportunity I feel like I have a very good chance to make a football team." USWNT Jerseys 2020 . Nat Borchers headed in the sole goal in the 54th minute, getting on the end of a Kyle Beckerman free kick. The defeat cost Sporting top spot in the Eastern Conference. Even a draw would have moved the Kansas City club above Columbus. Stitched USWNT Jerseys . Louis Cardinals have agreed to a one-year contract. https://www.cheapuswnt.com/ . We have selected five stand-out maiden seasons since the PGA Tour first introduced a Rookie of the Year award in 1990, and our quintet have amassed an impressive 26 major victories between them - although Tiger Woods accounts for more than half of those! The likes of John Daly and Ernie Els both chalked up major wins in their first seasons as full PGA Tour members, a feat that proved out of the reach of Woods, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth. So who put together the best set of results as a rookie? Rory McIlroy, 2010Although he did not consider himself a rookie, McIlroy played his first full season as a PGA Tour member and enjoyed a successful campaign highlighted by his astonishing win at the Wells Fargo Championship, where he narrowly made the cut and shot 66-62 over the weekend to blow away a world-class field. Rory McIlroy 2010: P16, 1 win, 5 top 10s, 4 MCs He finished third at The Open despite following his opening 63 with a wind-battered 80 at St Andrews, and he was a whisker away from joining Martin Kaymer and Bubba Watson in a play-off at the PGA Championship.McIlroy enjoyed five top-10 finishes in his 16 starts with only four missed cuts, although he is the only player in this page to have missed out on the Rookie of the Year award, with Rickie Fowler getting the nod instead.Ernie Els, 1994Like Daly three years previously, Els made his major breakthough in his first season as a PGA Tour member when he edged out Loren Roberts and Colin Montgomerie in a play-off at the US Open. Ernie Els 1994: P 11, 1 win, 4 top 10s, 1 MC The smooth-swinging South African made only 11 starts in the US as he balanced his commitments to the European Tour, and he missed only one cut while claiming a runner-up place at the Buick Classic - a week before his US Open win - and two further top-10 finishes.Jordan Spieth, 2013The next next big thing enjoyed a prolific rookie campaign which featured a handsome victory over the vastly-experrienced Zach Johnson at the John Deere Classic, two weeks before his 20th birthday. Custom USWNT Jerseys. Jordan Spieth 2013: P23, 1 win, 9 top 10s, 5 MCs In 23 starts on the PGA Tour, Spieth failed to make the weekend only five times and posted nine top-10 finishes, claiming the third of his three runner-up spots at the season-ending Tour Championship. His performance in Atlanta lifted him to seventh in the FedExCup standings and earned him a captains pick for the Presidents Cup, where he won two points out of four to help Fred Couples side to victory.Tiger Woods, 1996Hello world was how Woods announced himself to professional golf, although he hardly set the world alight in his debut among the paid ranks, finishing in a lowly tie for 60th at the Greater Milwaukee Open. Tiger Woods 1996: P8, 2 wins, 5 top 10s, 0 MCs Just four tournaments later, Woods collected the first of his 79 PGA Tour titles to the delight of the fans at the Las Vegas Invitational, and win No 2 arrived shortly afterwards in the Disney Classic.Five top 10s in eight starts, with no missed cuts, and Woods was all set to provide the most serious threat to the record 18 major titles of Jack Nicklaus.John Daly, 1991More known for his prodigious hitting than for winning tournaments until he burst onto the golfing world with his sensational victory at the PGA Championship, when he scraped into the field as ninth reserve and blitzed the competition by three shots in Indiana. John Daly 1991: P33, 1 win, 5 top 10s, 12 MCs The Wild Thing was hardly a model of consistency over his 33 starts that year, missing the cut in 12 tournaments, but he did notch four top-10 finishes including a third place at the season-ending Tour Championship.Unfortunately for Daly, his best performances came too late to earn a call-up to the US Ryder Cup team, and he was also overlooked for the 1995 contest despite winning The Open earlier that year.Upgrade to Sky Sports now and get 12 months half price.
