When asked how much stock he puts into a performance like tonight, he shrugged off the hype.“Not much,” Boykin said. “We’re still early into camp and we have such a long way to go. Basically, the whole preseason. But each day I work on my craft and try to get better.”As many have reported, this was the first padded practice for the Ravens and the defense appeared hungry for contact. Boykin was on the receiving end of the ramped-up physicality as safety Tony Jefferson laid a big hit on the rookie. Jefferson commented on the hit to PressBox’s Bo Smolka.I asked Boykin about this during the open locker room session following tonight’s practice.“The defense ramped-up today with the physicality once the pads came on,” I asked. “Do you welcome that?”“Yeah White James Hurst Jersey , I mean, cause that’s what the real thing is going to be like,” Boykin said. “That’s the National Football League. Everybody on defense can hit now. It’s not college where you don’t have to worry about safeties. All these safeties [in the NFL] can hit.
